There’s gluten free and then there’s celiac safe, and it’s a big difference. One of the difficulties of celiac disease is that not everything possessing a gluten free claim is safe, especially when it comes to things like eating out at restaurants or partaking in food at other people’s homes. Cross contact is a very real hazard that is often misunderstood. Our kitchen is completely and 100% gluten free. We also know, that much like other autoimmune diseases, every person with celiac has a different comfort level when it comes to those “controversial” gluten free items. We tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to these ingredients so that our food is accessible to everyone with celiac disease.
