Hello, I'm Chrystil.

After resigning from a thirteen year career as a Logistics Specialist in 2015 to parent my two young daughters​,​ I found my passion for baking reignited during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Unlike the rest of you​,​ I didn't make sourdough bread. I was instead inspired by my family's history of traditional baking and particularly their love of St Lucian Black Cake. After I crafted my own Dirty Rum Cake​,​ I was off! My appetite to learn all that I could about balancing ingredients and infusing the traditional Caribbean recipes with flavors from around the globe was voracious. You can often taste the fruits of my labors at the Brooklyn Pop-Up Markets. Where I am frequently behind tables laden with my delicious cakes​,​ either at the Old Stone Artisans Bazaar​,​ the Fort Greene Park Market​,​ or the Sunday Market at the Brooklyn Museum. I was born in St. Lucia and I have lived in Brooklyn​,​ New York since 2000.
